Allan grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm in a family that took in two dozen foster kids over the years. This early experience showed him the value of providing a safe place for troubled kids to feel safe to share, learn, and grow. In 1990, he married his best friend, another farm kid he had known since the age of 5. Over the past 31 years, he and his wife, Barbara, have raised 6 children and are grandparents to 5, soon to be 6, more.

In September of 2021, Allan retired from the Air Force after 32 years of military service, his last assignment being the Director of Operations for Defense Logistics Agency. Always looking for opportunities to learn, stretch, and grow, in 2020 Allan completed a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University focusing his dissertation on a topic he previously knew little about – Cyber Leadership. New to the civilian workforce, he now works from home for a company based out of San Francisco.

Throughout the years and many moves, Allan has been involved in various ministries including Prison Fellowship, Crown Financial, Financial Peace, Midwest City Tool Time (a ministry of Life.Church), Love Wichita (a rehab ministry), Habitat for Humanity, and Rebuilding Together (formerly known as Christmas in April). As reflected in these ministries, Allan loves building projects and tackling fixer-uppers. He and his wife are currently working on and living in a fixer-upper, while also being actively involved in a new church plant in Beavercreek, OH and leading a local small group Bible study. As a new board member for Camp David of the Ozarks, Allan looks forward to seeing how God can use him to contribute to its success and further the mission.
