Overview

Our desire is to gather an outstanding group of dedicated staff who love the Lord with all their heart and have a passion to share that love with kids. Our mission is to not only impact the lives of at-risk children, but help our staff grow in their relationship with God, develop character, and become life-giving leaders.

A Mission Experience

Serving at Hope of the Ozarks is much like a missions trip in the rustic Ozarks, but with inner-city youth, many of whom have never heard about Jesus. We wholeheartedly believe you will find it to be life-changing as you are stretched spiritually, emotionally and physically. You will give your all to show campers the love of Christ. Being on the Hope of the Ozarks Team is a fun, rewarding experience that could change your life forever.

Application Process

After receiving your application and checking your references, we will schedule a 20 min. phone interview, after which we will let you know if you are accepted. Everything is kept confidential.

Staff Training

Share Your Testimony

We need some staff members each week during camp to share their testimony (story) of God working in their life. Hearing from each other will really encourage the campers and fellow staff in trusting God more. Please begin praying about what God would have you share.

Basic Camp Schedule

Each week of volunteer service begins at 4:00 pm Sunday evening, and continues through Friday until you are dismissed at 4:00 pm. If you are from out of town, there may be provision for you to stay at camp over the weekends (for those 16 yrs and older). Please let the Camp Directors know ASAP if you need to stay the weekend. Special permission is needed from the Camp Directors for any times of absence of any staff. See a SAMPLE SCHEDULE from a Junior Camp Week.

Financial Support

Hope of the Ozarks is a non-profit ministry that provides at-risk children a free week of summer camp.  A big part of making this possible are our volunteers that come serve and support the camp. In a similar way as you would have to pay to go on mission trip with your church, you have the opportunity to donate financially towards the food, lodging and ministry for your time of service. There are two options to support the Hope of the Ozarks ministry:

Donate: It is $100 per week of service. So if you are going to serve for 3 weeks this summer, it is $300 due before your time of service. Donate online now!

Raise Support: Invite others to partner with you in this mission to give hope! Raising support for your time of service at Hope of the Ozarks involves writing a letter, finding 15-20 addresses of family and friends that you can invite to help, and doing your mailing (stuffing envelopes and putting stamps on). We have supplied a sample Support Letter for you, which you can personalize. Pray about who is in your circle of family and friends that might want to partner with you in this mission.  If you come to staff training, you can do your mailing here using the camp’s postage. In order to do this, you will need to email us your list of addresses by May 25th. If you choose the online counselor training, you are expected to send out your own letters before your time of service. The Office Manager will keep track of how much support is raised under your name and will give you an opportunity to write thank you notes.

Plan ahead with this PACKING LIST!

We look forward to hearing from you soon. If you get your application sent in by April 30th you will get $5 store bucks to spend in our General Store this summer!
